When it helps with land
Land near a mosque or dargah
See which surveys the register lists under the institution before buying beside it.
A tenant of waqf property
Waqf property is leased, not sold. The register shows what the institution holds.
An office visit
The GS number and the supervising office are what the Waqf Board office asks for.
Institution names repeat (there are many Idga Masjids), so check the place in the name before relying on a match. A survey recorded under a waqf institution cannot be bought from a private seller; ask the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board about any parcel that matters.
Questions people ask
How do I check waqf board property online in Tamil Nadu?
Type the mosque, dargah or institution name with its place and press Run. Each institution the Waqf Board register matches is listed with its GS number, supervising office and the parcels recorded under it.
Can I search in Tamil?
Yes. The register writes each institution in English and Tamil, and a name typed in either is matched.
How do I check whether one survey is waqf land?
Use the waqf land check: drop a pin on the land and the survey under it is searched in the same register.
Can waqf property be sold?
Not by a private party. Waqf property is inalienable under the Waqf Act, 1995, and a Sub-Registrar will refuse a deed on it.
When is it charged?
When the register answers with an institution. A name it does not hold costs nothing. The price is shown beside the Run button.
