Height and slope of a plot
How high a plot sits above sea level, how steeply it slopes and which way the ground falls, with the maximum building height the airport rules allow there.
What we need
One thing at a time. Fill it in and press Run.
The answer
From the register, with its date and source.
Nothing run yet. The answer appears here with everything this mini adds:
- Slope as a grade and a direction, so drainage and fill can be judged
- The neighbouring heights north, south, east and west
- The airport height cap at the same point, read in the same run
How this works
What it reads, what it needs, and how to read the answer.
Elevation and slope decide how a plot drains and how much filling a build needs, and low ground near the coast is where flood risk starts. This mini reads the terrain model at a pin.
A pin on the map.

Run it as often as you need. Nothing is deducted.
Elevation in metres above sea level, slope in degrees and percent with a band (flat, gentle, moderate, steep), and the compass direction the ground falls towards. Below about five metres near the coast, run the zones mini for the flood layer.
The Copernicus 90 m digital elevation model for height, a 30 m grid for slope and aspect, and the airport zoning limits for the height cap.
Questions people ask
Short answers, no jargon.
How accurate is the height?
It is a 90 m terrain model, so treat the figure as the height of the ground around the plot, not a surveyed spot level.
What does aspect mean?
The compass direction the ground falls towards. A plot that falls north east drains that way.
Is this free?
Yes, both the terrain read and the airport height check are free.
