What we need

One thing at a time. Fill it in and press Run.

Drop a pin, paste a Google Maps link, or use your location.

No pin yet. Tap the land, paste a link, or use your location.

You will see the price and your balance before it runs.

The answer

From the register, with its date and source.

Nothing run yet. The answer appears here with everything this mini adds:

  • Distances measured to the nearest point of each waterway, not to a label
  • The government water body register searched beside the map lines, so a tank the map omits still shows
  • The parcel located first, so the distances are from the land, not the pin

How this works

What it reads, what it needs, and how to read the answer.

What it does

Water near land decides drainage, flood exposure and the setbacks a plan must keep. This mini lists the waterways around a pin with their distances and the water bodies the government register maps nearby.

What you give it

A pin on the map.

What it adds beyond the portal
  • Distances measured to the nearest point of each waterway, not to a label
  • The government water body register searched beside the map lines, so a tank the map omits still shows
  • The parcel located first, so the distances are from the land, not the pin
What it costs
1 credit per run

Charged only when the record comes back. You see your balance before you approve, and a run that finds nothing costs nothing.

How to read the result

Nearest first. A canal or drain within a few tens of metres deserves a look at the flood layer and the setback rules; the water body table shows tanks and lakes with their extent.

Where the data comes from

OpenStreetMap waterway lines for named rivers, canals, streams and drains; the government water bodies register for tank, lake and pond polygons; the state cadastral layer to locate the parcel.

Questions people ask

Short answers, no jargon.

Why do some drains have no name?

The map records the line but nobody has named it. It is still a drain, and its distance is real.

Is a waterway nearby a problem?

Not by itself. It matters for flooding, for the distance a building must keep from a channel, and for whether the land itself is a water course. The zones mini and Verify My Land carry those checks.

Why one credit?

The waterway lines are the paid lookup; the water body register beside them rides inside that price. Nothing is charged when no waterway is found.
