How to find the CMDA land use map for an area

Type the place
A neighbourhood, a revenue village or a municipality, such as Ambattur, Nungambakkam or Tambaram. Sheets are named after villages and wards, not colonies.

Narrow by local body
Pick corporation, municipality, panchayat union or town panchayat if a name turns up in more than one.

Follow the link to the map and find your street on it. The colour on the sheet is the land use zone of that area.

A plan sheet shows the land use colouring for a whole village or ward. It does not tell you the zone of one plot with certainty, or anything about its title. Run the zone check at the plot for its zone, and check ownership in the revenue records.

How do I find the CMDA land use map for my area?

Does the sheet tell me my plot's zone?
It shows the colouring for the whole area, so you can see roughly where your plot falls. Run the zone check at the plot for the zone at that exact point.
What is the difference between the master plan and a DDP?
The master plan sheet colours land use for a village or ward. A detailed development plan covers a smaller area in more detail, with its roads and reservations. Where both exist, both are listed.
My place is not found.
Sheets are named after the revenue village or the ward, so a colony or layout name will not match. Try the village or neighbourhood name. Places outside the Chennai Metropolitan Area are under a DTCP master plan, which is not in this index.
