The state GIS portal maps slum boundaries for five municipal corporations. This mini reads the plot under a pin against that map and says whether it falls inside a mapped slum boundary, which area it is and what lies nearby.

Inside a mapped slum boundary means the plot meets a boundary drawn on the map. No mapped slum boundary here is not a clearance, and outside the five corporations the answer is not assessed, because the map does not reach there.

No. The map is not the list of areas notified under the Tamil Nadu Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act, 1971, and an area can be notified without a boundary on it. Confirm with the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board and the corporation.
Why does my town say not assessed?
The map covers only the Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode corporations. Anywhere else nothing can be said either way.
Why is there no slum name outside Chennai?
The map names Chennai slum areas with their ward and zone. The other four corporations are mapped as boundaries without names.
Why read the parcel boundary and not just the pin?
A plot can touch a slum area that its centre misses. When the survey under the pin resolves, its boundary is read; otherwise the pin is.
