Know when the ground changes around your land
Drop a pin and pick a radius, or draw the area on the map. Ground Watch checks every clear satellite pass over it, about one a week, parcel by parcel, against the land around it and against the same weeks a year earlier. When new building, clearing, earthwork or water holds for two months, you get one WhatsApp, and every change waits on a map on your watch page.

The answer
The area, and what is watched in it.
Nothing run yet. The answer appears here with everything this mini adds:
- Every survey parcel of 1,000 sq m and up judged on its own, and 40 m squares across the rest of the area, roads and small plots included
- Each parcel compared with the area around it on the same day and with the same weeks a year earlier, so a dry season or the monsoon is not reported as building
- One WhatsApp when a change is confirmed: still there two months on
- Early signs and every confirmed change kept on a map on the watch page, with the survey numbers
- The first read looks back about two years, so you start with what has already changed
- Included in the enterprise plans: ten watches on Team, three on Solo
The watch, briefly
A watch over an area of land, checked on every clear satellite pass for new construction, clearing, earthwork or water, parcel by parcel, with a WhatsApp alert when a change is confirmed.
- How wide
- Up to 3.2 sq km
A 250 m, 500 m or 1 km circle around a pin, or any area you draw up to that size. A 1 km circle near Chennai holds thousands of survey parcels, and every one of them is covered.
- How often
- About weekly
Every clear satellite pass is read the night it arrives. A cloudy pass is shown as unseen, never as unchanged; in the north-east monsoon clouds can hide the land for weeks.
- How you hear
- One WhatsApp
Only when a change is confirmed, still there after two months, naming the survey numbers. Early signs wait on the watch page instead.
How to get alerts for new construction near your land
- 1
Mark the area
Drop a pin on your land and pick 250 m, 500 m or 1 km around it, or switch to Draw an area and tap its corners. Paste a Google Maps link to jump to the spot.
- 2
Start the watch
The survey parcels inside are taken from the state survey map. That night the first read looks back about two years.
- 3
Hear when it is confirmed
Each clear pass is checked as it arrives. A change that holds for two months reaches your WhatsApp; earlier signs are on the watch page.
Ground Watch, Sales Watch and the Property Tracker
Three ways to keep an eye on land, and what each one is for.
| Ground Watch | Sales Watch | Property Tracker | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Watches | What happens on the ground across an area | Registrations on your survey and up to 49 around it | One property: owner, registrations and the plot from space |
| How often | Every clear satellite pass, about weekly | Every Monday | Every day |
| Best for | Building, clearing or a layout coming up near you | Knowing who sells or mortgages around you | Guarding your own property |
When it helps with land
Land you own but do not see
Plots far from where you live are where encroachment starts quietly: trees cut, earth moved, a foundation poured. Hear about it in weeks, not when you next visit.
Land you are about to buy
See what has been built, cleared or filled around a plot over the last two years before you commit, and keep watching while the deal goes through.
An area you are developing or investing in
A new layout cut into farmland, a road going through, a lake filled in: the changes that move land prices show up on the ground first.
A satellite view is 10 m wide. Ground Watch sees building, clearing, earthwork and water, not a fence, a compound wall or who did it. When checked against sharp imagery, about two in three confirmed changes were real and one in three early signs, which is why only confirmed ones are sent. Look at the land before acting on an alert, and use Sales Watch and the encumbrance certificate for what the registers say.
Questions people ask
How do I know if someone starts building or clearing land near my plot?
Ground Watch checks every clear satellite pass over an area you mark, about one a week, and sends you a WhatsApp when new construction, clearing, earthwork or water on a parcel there has held for two months.
What does it cost?
A monthly price per watch, shown on the page before you start, taken when the watch starts and then each month. The Team plans include ten watches without charge, Solo three.
How big an area can I watch?
Up to 3.2 sq km: a 1 km circle around a pin, or any area you draw up to that size.
Why are small plots covered by squares?
A plot under 1,000 sq m is only a few satellite pixels, too few to judge on its own. The whole area is also covered in 40 m squares, so a change on a small plot or a road still shows, named by the survey numbers under that square.
Will a dry summer or the monsoon set it off?
Each parcel is compared with the land around it on the same day and with the same weeks a year earlier, so weather that browns or greens the whole area cancels out. A change also has to hold for two months before it is sent.
Will it see a fence or a compound wall?
No. A satellite view is 10 m wide and a wall is a few inches. It sees the clearing, the earthwork or the building that usually comes with it.
When will I hear from it?
Only when a change is confirmed. Early signs show on the watch page after two clear passes; the WhatsApp follows once the change has held for two months.
Can I stop it?
Yes, from the watch page at any time. Nothing more is read or charged; the month already begun is not refunded.
How is this different from Sales Watch and the Property Tracker?
Sales Watch follows the registrations on the surveys around your land every Monday. The Property Tracker follows one property every day, owner and registrations included, and watches that plot from space too. Ground Watch follows what happens on the ground across a whole area.
