Town survey replaced the older survey numbering in urban Tamil Nadu, so a deed written before it cites a number no current record shows. The town survey register prints the old number on every extract, which is what this reads.

Each result is a current parcel: ward, block, TS number and sub-division, with the old numbers its own entry carries. Several parcels for one old number is normal, because one old survey was usually split.

My deed says R.S. 59/1 and nothing is found.
Try without the town to search wider, and check the town spelling. About 7% of urban parcels have no old number printed in the register at all, and rural land is not covered by town survey.
Why do I get five parcels for one old number?
Because that old survey was divided. Each current parcel is a separate holding with its own owner, and each one lists the same old number.
Does a part marker matter?
No. 59/1PT, 59/1pt and 59/1 are treated as the same number, which is how the register itself writes them.
