The register copy, briefly
The A-register is the revenue department's survey-wise register of village land. It records each survey and sub-division with its owner, patta number, extent and land type.

Does the owner named here prove the title?
No. The revenue register records who holds the land for revenue purposes. Title rests on the registered deeds, which the encumbrance certificate lists.
