Why does a village name matter for an EC?
The registration portal indexes encumbrance records by the office's own village name, which can differ from the revenue village. The guide village shown here is the one to search under.
Can I register a deed at any office in the district?
A document must be registered at the office whose jurisdiction covers the property, or at the District Registrar office above it. Some categories are allowed at any office in the state; check with the office first.
What are the DIG and District Registrar for?
They supervise the sub-registrar offices. A refusal, a delay or a complaint goes up that ladder.
