Background
Tamil Nadu lets owners of plots bought before 20 October 2016 in unapproved layouts regularise them for a charge, and unregularised plots face registration and planning permission hurdles. Government Order 148 of 27 July 2026 extended applications from promoters, societies and plot owner associations to 30 June 2027, and each extension or charge revision moves this tracker.
