What the notifications do

The Tamil Nadu Waqf Board issued four notifications under section 65 of the Waqf Act 1995. Each notification records a Board resolution taking over the direct management of a specified waqf and appointing an officer to serve as its Executive Officer.

Who may be affected

The Tamil Nadu Waqf Board notifications are relevant to people or professionals dealing with any of the four named waqfs. They confirm that management has been taken over by the Tamil Nadu Waqf Board and identify the officer appointed to administer each institution.

The Gazette text does not identify individual survey numbers, describe particular land parcels, set transaction procedures or state that ownership of any property has changed. A buyer or owner should therefore use the waqf name, location and G.S. number given in the notification when checking whether a property is connected with one of these institutions.
