Land acquired for a Cauvery bridge

The Highways and Minor Ports Department, through G.O. (D) No. 135 dated 3 July 2013, acquires land in Vangal Village, Karur Taluk, Karur District. The public purpose is construction of a high level bridge across the Cauvery River between Vangal Village and Mohanur Village in Namakkal District.

The Highways and Minor Ports Department, through G.O. (D) No. 136 dated 3 July 2013, acquires approximately 0.42.42 hectares of wetland in Manakkarambai Village, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk, Thanjavur District. The land is required for formation of the Thanjavur bypass road.

• The affected survey numbers are 130/4B, 130/4D, 130/5B and 130/8.
• The schedule gives the extent and named owners or interested persons for each parcel.
• Compensation is to be paid from funds controlled and managed by the Divisional Engineer (Highways), Thanjavur.
• The plan can be inspected during office hours at the office of the Tahsildar, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk.

Proposed expansion of the Erode Local Planning Area

The Housing and Urban Development Department, through G.O. Ms. No. 148 dated 20 June 2013, declares an intention to include additional areas in the Erode Local Planning Area. The draft amendment would replace the table in the Rural Development and Local Administration Department notification published on 12 June 1974.

• The replacement table lists revenue villages in Erode Taluk and Perundurai Taluk.
• Inhabitants, local authorities and institutions may submit written objections or suggestions before the two-month period from Gazette publication expires.
• Submissions must be addressed to the Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, Fort St George, Secretariat, Chennai 600 009.

The Commercial Taxes and Registration Department, under G.O. (2D) No. 94 dated 10 July 2013, appoints Thiru A. Subramanian as Additional Member (Judicial) of the Appellate Tribunal, Additional Bench, Madurai. The Labour and Employment Department, under G.O. (D) No. 255 dated 2 July 2013, exempts Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited, Chennai, from the Employees' State Insurance Act for the stated period, subject to conditions.
