Amendments to Notification under Land Acquisition Act

What the notification does

The Government of Tamil Nadu, Transport Department, issued Notification No. II (2)/TRA/620(b)/2010 through Letter No. 9929/I.1/2010-3 dated 6 October 2010. It amends the land acquisition notification approved in G.O. Ms. No. 224, Transport (I.1) Department, dated 14 September 2010, which had been published as Notification No. II(2)/TRA/574(d-1)/2010 on 17 September 2010.

The amendment was published in Part II, Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary on 7 October 2010. It corrects the area shown for one survey number and the resulting total area.

Land details changed

Notification No. II (2)/TRA/620(b)/2010 makes the following corrections:

• In page 2, paragraph 6 of the earlier notification, the entry is for ryotwari wet land in Survey No. 83/3C part.
• The area previously printed as 0.01.5 hectare must be read as 0.06.0 hectare.
• In page 3 of the earlier notification, the total previously printed as 4.96.0 hectares must be read as 5.00.5 hectares.
• The corrected survey entry therefore adds 0.04.5 hectare to the area previously printed, matching the change in the total.

Who should check this amendment

Notification No. II (2)/TRA/620(b)/2010 is relevant to anyone relying on the land particulars in the earlier acquisition notification, especially an owner, buyer or professional checking Survey No. 83/3C part. The corrected figures should be used instead of the figures originally printed on pages 2 and 3.

The amendment does not reproduce all the land particulars from the earlier notification. It only identifies the affected classification, survey number, earlier area and corrected area. A reader who needs the complete acquisition details would therefore need to read Notification No. II(2)/TRA/574(d-1)/2010 together with this amendment.
