What the gazette covers

Tamil Nadu Government Gazette No. 45 was published by authority of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 16 November 2016. It is a collection of separate government notifications, not a general change applying to every property in Tamil Nadu.

Property and planning decisions

The Housing and Urban Development Department issued G.O. Ms. No. 167, Housing and Urban Development (UD1), dated 7 October 2016. Its main provisions are:

• Relaxation of setback requirements by 0.2 metres on the north, 0.96 metres on the south and 1.49 metres on the east from the ramp.
• The relaxation benefits Thiru Y. Pallakkudurai and Tmt. P. Sujatha.
• It permits consideration of revised planning permission for changing an existing basement, stilt and nine-floor building from office use to commercial use.
• The property is at Survey No. 249/2B (Part), Town Survey No. 6, Block No. 199, Door No. 37, Tambaram-Velachery Main Road, Velachery Village, Chennai.

The Housing and Urban Development Department also issued G.O. (3D) No. 181, Housing and Urban Development (UD-V), dated 28 October 2016. It allows a reserved school site in Survey Nos. 300/1A1A, 300/1A1B, 300/1A1C and 300/1A1D, Mudichur Village, to become residential plots, subject to the appellant obtaining approval from the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority within three months.

The Highways and Minor Ports Department issued G.O. (D) No. 210, Highways and Minor Ports (H.S.2), dated 14 October 2016. It corrects the owner company name recorded against Survey No. 483B/1B in an earlier land acquisition notification.

Other notifications

• The Commercial Taxes and Registration Department issued G.O. (Rt) No. 421, Commercial Taxes and Registration (J1), dated 6 October 2016, consolidating stamp duty of twenty-five lakh rupees for policies issued by Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited through Tamil Nadu branches from 1 August 2016 to 31 December 2016.
• The Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department issued G.O. (D) No. 263, dated 7 November 2016, authorising specified co-operative officers to appoint managing directors for qualifying employees' co-operative credit societies for one year from 9 November 2016.
• The Home Department issued G.O. (D) No. 1034, Home (Courts-II), dated 27 October 2016, substituting Thirumathi J.A. Kokila as the named judge of Designated Court No. II at Chennai.
• The Labour and Employment Department issued G.O. Ms. No. 202, Labour and Employment (H1), dated 21 October 2016, amending earlier notifications about inspectors, local jurisdictions and registering officers under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act.
