Who should check this

You should check these notifications if you are:

  • buying or selling land in the listed survey fields,
  • planning an industrial or residential project there,
  • verifying whether a site is still agricultural in the planning schedule,
  • checking whether extra conditions apply because of a nearby river, stream or existing structure.

Common questions

Does this gazette change land use for all land in Coimbatore or Karur?

No. The notifications only change the survey numbers specifically listed in the gazette, such as fields in Pichanur, Sarkarsamakulam, Kunnathur, Sulur Village No. 80, and Punjai Pugalur North Village.

Can any kind of factory be built on the industrially reclassified Coimbatore sites?

No. For the notifications that state this condition, only industries classified as Green Category or Orange Category under the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board or the Tamil Nadu Combined Development and Building Rules, 2019 may be established.

Do these notifications mention special rules for land near rivers or streams?

Yes. Some sites have conditions because a stream or the Noyyal River is nearby. The notifications require proper guidelines for development near waterbodies, and in the Kagithapuram case they also require a no objection certificate from the Water Resources Department.

If my survey number is one of the listed sub-divisions, does it stop being agricultural in the plan?

Yes, for the listed sub-divisions in each notification. The gazette changes the planning schedule by adding those sub-divisions to industrial or residential use and revising the agricultural entry to exclude them.
