An FMB village map is the map of one village with every survey number and sub-division drawn in place, taken from the state cadastral boundary layer. What the FMB village map shows

Every survey number and sub-division of the village you choose, drawn from the state cadastral boundary layer, on a street or satellite base map. It answers the question the FMB sketch cannot: where a survey number sits in its village and which survey numbers surround it. From any plot, one click opens the FMB sketch with its measurements, and the patta and chitta for who holds it.

How do I see the FMB village map with survey numbers?

Choose the district, taluk and village above and press Show village map. Every survey number and sub-division of the village is drawn on the map from the state cadastral boundary layer. Zoom in to read the numbers, type a survey number to jump to it, and click any plot to open its FMB sketch.

What is the difference between the village map and the FMB sketch?

The village map shows every survey number of the village in place, so you can see where a plot sits and who its neighbours are. The FMB sketch is the surveyed drawing of one survey number, with its side lengths and the measurements used to fix its corners. Use the village map to find the plot and the FMB sketch to confirm its dimensions.

Is the village map free?

Yes. The map, the survey number search and the FMB sketch it links to are free, with no sign-up.

Why is my survey number not on the map?

The map draws the parcels held in the state cadastral boundary layer. A survey number may be missing if the village was resurveyed and renumbered, if the parcel is held only under its sub-divisions (search 153 and the sub-divisions 153/1, 153/2 appear), or if the area is town-surveyed, in which case it is recorded by ward and block instead of village. Check the survey number on the patta.

Does the village map work when the government portal is down?

Yes. The boundaries are served from our own copy of the state cadastral layer, and the FMB sketch each plot links to falls back to our archive of over 17 million sketches, covering 27 of the 38 districts, when the government portal is not answering.

Can I share a village map?

Yes. Once a village is loaded the page address carries it, so the link opens the same village for anyone you send it to.
