Background
NHAI is building a double-decker elevated corridor of about 20 km along the Cooum from Chennai Port to Maduravoyal, costed around Rs 5,600 crore. Progress is roughly a fifth complete with completion now projected for 2029, and acquisition with rehabilitation along the alignment affects thousands of residents between Koyambedu and the port.
