Area Explorer API: micromarket supply in Chennai and Tamil Nadu cities
Yes. The LandLens Area Explorer API returns a city's micromarkets as our own coded areas (Chennai's corridors and zones, every other city's towns), each built from revenue villages, wards and PIN codes so the area figures add up to the city. Per area you get the projects, homes, plots and extent registered, share of the city, developers active, what is under construction, completed or late, density, momentum (the window against the equal window before it) and the leading developer. Name one area and you get it in full: its villages and PIN codes, developers, quarterly filings, late projects and project list. It is part of LandLens Intelligence on the enterprise plan and costs nothing per call.

A real answer from the API, trimmed for length: one of the five areas and one of the eleven regions are shown. Links are shown on the live host.
What it returns
Without area, the city view: every area in one table. With area, that area in full.
| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
figures | City view: areas, projects, units, plots, extent, developers, under_construction, completed and late for the city in the window. |
areas[] | City view, per area: slug, name, region, kind (corridor, zone, town), district, projects, units, plots, extent, share of the city, developers, under construction, completed, late, density, momentum and top_developer. |
momentum | Per area and region: the share now and before, the change, and dir (up or down). The top-level momentum gives the two windows compared. |
regions[] | City view: the same figures by region (OMR, West and the rest). |
coverage | Filings without a unit count, developer, coordinates or stage, and filings placed in no area. |
area, members, developers, quarters | Area view: the area, its member villages, wards and PIN codes, its developers, and filings by quarter, with its late projects and project list. |
page_url, export_url | The same view in LandLens. export_url downloads it in a signed-in browser only. |
Ways to call it
Read the city first; each area row carries the slug that opens it.
City view
Every area of the city in one table, sorted as you ask.
{"city": "Chennai","window": "8q","limit": 5}
One area
One area in full, with its members, developers, quarters and projects.
{"city": "Chennai","area": "west-kundrathur"}
Inputs
The JSON body of the POST is the arguments.
| Argument | Type | What to send |
|---|---|---|
city |
string | The city, e.g. Chennai (default), Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli. An unknown name falls back to Chennai and the answer says so. |
area |
string | One area's slug from the city view (e.g. omr-perungudi-thoraipakkam) to read that area in full. |
kind |
string: corridor, zone, town, rest | Only areas of this type: corridor, zone, town or rest. |
window |
string: all, 4q, 8q, 12q, custom | all (default, the whole register from 2017), 4q, 8q, 12q, or custom with from and to. |
from |
string | Custom window start, YYYY-MM-DD. |
to |
string | Custom window end, YYYY-MM-DD. |
sort |
string: area, region, projects, units, plots, extent, share, under_construction, completed, late, developers, density, momentum, luxury | Area table order; default units. |
dir |
string: asc, desc | |
page |
integer | With area: page of its project list, 25 rows each. |
limit |
integer | Rows of the area table, or of an area's project list, to return (default 25, at most 100). |

Which Chennai areas registered the most homes in the last two years, and which of them are gaining momentum?
Your AI reads the city view sorted by units and by momentum, and names the areas.
Responses
Every answer has the same envelope. What status can say for this call:
| status | What it means |
|---|---|
ok | The city or the area was read. |
not_found | No area with that slug in the city, or the areas have not been built yet. message says which. |
scope_denied | HTTP 403, nothing charged. The account behind the credential does not hold the enterprise plan (reason enterprise_plan, with plan_url), Intelligence is paused on the account (access_paused), or the day's allowance of rows read over the API is used (row_limit, with retry_after). |
Where the data comes from
The filings on the Tamil Nadu real estate project register, each placed in an area by its revenue village, ward or PIN code, never by a map pin alone.
The 49 cities the register names. Chennai is divided into 29 corridors and zones; other cities into their towns. Filings since the register opened in 2017.
The areas are rebuilt every night after the register. as_of gives the time of the register read and of the area build.
Each filing is placed in one area, so the areas add up to the city. A filing that cannot be placed is counted in coverage, never dropped. Momentum compares the window's share of the city with the equal window before it.
Who uses it
Developers and land teams
Compare corridors on supply, density and momentum before choosing where to buy land.
Research and advisory desks
Publish micromarket tables that add up to the city, with the coverage gaps stated.
Lenders
Watch where supply is concentrating and where filings are running late, area by area.
Limits and good practice
- The areas are our own coding of villages, wards and PIN codes. They will not match a portal's locality names one for one.
- These are filings, not sales. For prices and absorption use intel_price_index and intel_registrations.
- An unknown city name falls back to Chennai, and note says so. Spell the city as the register does.
- A filing without a unit count adds nothing to units; coverage says how many there are.
Pricing
Area Explorer costs nothing per call. LandLens Intelligence is part of the enterprise plan: the plan is the only requirement, and a credential on an account without it is refused with nothing charged. Credits come from the same LandLens wallet as the chat and the minis. How billing works.
Free calls have an hourly and daily allowance. For more than that, or a platform built on these registers, we set up limits and a plan to match.
Questions
Is there an API for Chennai micromarket data?
Yes, this one. It returns every Chennai corridor and zone, and every other city's towns, with registered supply, developers, delay and momentum, as JSON over HTTPS or MCP.
How much does it cost?
No credits. It needs the LandLens enterprise plan; without it the call answers scope_denied with the plan page and nothing is charged.
Do the areas add up to the city?
Yes. Each filing is placed in one area by its village, ward or PIN code, and filings that cannot be placed are counted in coverage.
How is momentum worked out?
The area's share of the city's filings in the window, against its share in the equal window before it. dir says whether it rose or fell.
