Owner Name Search API: land held under a name in Tamil Nadu
Yes. The LandLens owner name search API finds the survey numbers recorded under a holder's name in the Tamil Nadu revenue A-register (village land) and the Town Survey Land Register (town land). Send the name, in English and ideally in Tamil too, and an area to search in. Each parcel comes back with its survey number, patta number, extent, revenue codes and how the name matched: as the holder, as part of a joint holder's name, or as a relative (father or husband) named in the entry. It costs 3 credits per search that finds the name as written, and nothing when only similar spellings come back.

A page of parcels with counts. found is false (status not_found) when no holder carries the name as written, even if similar spellings are listed.

searched_as | The English spelling searched, when you sent the name in Tamil. |
page, capped | Paging. page 2 and on reads our copy only. |

The JSON body of the POST is the arguments. Only the name is required. Give at least a district: the search is faster and the answer smaller.

name_tamil |
string | The same name in Tamil script. Needed to reach holders the town register records only in Tamil. |
district_code |
string | Revenue district code, to scope the search (recommended) |
taluk_code |
string | Revenue taluk code, to scope further |
village_code |
string | With district_code and taluk_code, scopes the search to one village or town, and switches on the live town register search. |
page |
integer | Page number for pagination, default 1. The live government register is searched on page 1 only. |

List every survey number recorded under the name of a company in Sholinganallur taluk, Chennai.
Your AI writes the Tamil spelling, finds the revenue codes, says the price, and lists the parcels with their patta numbers.

not_found | No holder carries the name as written. Similar spellings may still be listed. Nothing is charged. |
invalid_args | The name is missing. |
Where the data comes from
The Tamil Nadu revenue department's A-register for village land and its Town Survey Land Register for town survey land, as held in our copy of both, plus, for a search scoped to one town, the government town register's own owner-name search read live.
Village and town survey land across Tamil Nadu, as far as our copy of the registers reaches. Some villages are not yet in our copy of the village register. The government's own village register name search is captcha gated and is not searched.
Our copy of the registers is refreshed in full about once a year. Holders change on every sale, so read the current record with fetch_land_record before relying on a row.
The name is searched exactly first (every word, in any order, in both registers). Only when no holder carries it as written does the search fall back to similar spellings, and those rows are marked similar. Holders the town register records only in Tamil are reached through name_tamil.
Who uses it
Law firms
List what a vendor, a company or an estate holds in a taluk before a title search or a partition.
Lenders and recovery teams
Find land recorded under a borrower or a guarantor during due diligence or recovery.
Developers
Map the holdings of the families or companies around a site being assembled.
Limits and good practice
- A row is the recorded holder in our copy of the register. Confirm the current holder with fetch_land_record before relying on it.
- A matching name is not proof of identity. Two people can share a name; confirm with the father's name, the address and ID documents.
- The government's own village register name search is not searched (it is captcha gated). Village holders are found in our copy of the A-register only.
- Many town holders are recorded only in Tamil. Without name_tamil, scoped to one town, they cannot be reached.
- Similar-spelling rows are a spelling aid, not an answer. They are not charged.
Pricing
Each search that finds the name as written costs 3 credits; a search that finds nothing, or only similar spellings, costs nothing. Credits come from the same LandLens wallet as the chat and the minis. How billing works.
For thousands of calls a month, a portfolio sweep or a platform built on these registers, we quote a customised bulk price, with invoicing to match.
