What it returns

The fields depend on action. found is false (status not_found, nothing charged) when the calendar has nothing for the date, sign or month asked.

Responses

Every answer has the same envelope. What status can say for this call:

status	What it means
`ok`	The calendar answered. Read the fields for the action you sent.
`not_found`	Nothing for that date, sign or month (for example a date outside 2026 and 2027, a name that is not one of the twelve rashis, or no day meeting min_score). message or error says which. Nothing is charged.
`invalid_args`	HTTP 422: action is missing.
`insufficient_credits`	HTTP 402: the balance is below the price of the call. The answer carries the credits needed and your balance.

Where the data comes from

Register

Our day-by-day Tamil calendar: each date's Tamil month and day, nakshatram, thithi, the daily periods and good times, the auspicious score for property work, and the sub registrar office and bank holidays, with a daily reading for each of the twelve rashis and the festival and holiday list.

Coverage

Every day of 2026 and 2027 (730 days), a reading for each rashi on each of those days, and the festival and public holiday list for both years.

How current

Each year is added as a whole before it begins. A date outside the covered years answers not_found and says which years are covered.

How we read it

Tithi and nakshatram follow the vakya panchangam used on Tamil sheet calendars, checked against two independent almanacs; gowri nalla neram follows the gowri panchangam for Chennai. On a day the sub registrar office is closed, deed registration is never listed as suitable, and sro_note says why.

Answer "raahu kaalam today" and "is the registrar office open on Friday" in English and Tamil.

Limits and good practice

This is customary guidance, not a legal requirement. Present it that way, and never as a guarantee.
Coverage is 2026 and 2027. An invalid date is read as today, so send dates as YYYY-MM-DD.
best_dates lists at most 31 days for a month and 12 without one; total says how many matched.
Families follow different almanacs. A thirukanitha almanac can name the neighbouring tithi or star; school_note says which school these follow.
