Muhurtham Dates API for property registration
Yes. The LandLens muhurtham dates API returns the published muhurtham days that fall in a date window, each with its Tamil month and day (Tamil script and English letters), weekday, valarpirai or theipirai, nakshatram, auspicious score, the good times and raahu kaalam, what the day suits and should avoid, and whether the sub registrar office and banks are open. It covers 2026 and 2027, defaults to the next 60 days and reads at most 120 days a call. It costs 1 credit, and nothing when no muhurtham falls in the window.

What it returns
One call, one window. found is false (status not_found, nothing charged) when no published muhurtham falls in it.
| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
window | The start and end dates read. window_read is set when part of the window fell outside the published years. |
count | How many muhurtham days fall in the window. |
muhurtham_dates[].date | The day, YYYY-MM-DD. |
muhurtham_type | Valarpirai (waxing moon) or Theipirai (waning moon), in English and Tamil. |
weekday, tamil_date | The weekday, and the Tamil year, month and day, each in Tamil script and English letters. |
nakshatram | The day's star, in Tamil and English letters. |
auspicious_score | The calendar's score for property work that day, out of 100. |
sro_status, bank_status | Open or Closed. A muhurtham on a Sunday or a government holiday cannot be used to register a deed. |
good_times, avoid_times | The good time windows (morning, noon, gowri) and the raahu kaalam and yamagandam to keep clear of. |
suitable_for, avoid_for | What the day suits and what it should not be used for. sro_note explains a closed office. |
next_muhurtham_after_window | The first published muhurtham after the window, useful when the window is empty. |
notes, range_note, coverage_note | Reading notes; range_note when the window was cut to 120 days, coverage_note when it ran past the published years. |
Inputs
The JSON body of the POST is the arguments. Every input is optional. With none, the next 60 days from today are read.
| Argument | Type | What to send |
|---|---|---|
start_date |
string | Window start, YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today. |
end_date |
string | Window end, YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to start_date + 60 days. Windows longer than 120 days are clamped. |
purpose |
string | What the date is for (property registration, griha pravesham, bhoomi puja, token advance). It is returned as sent; match it against each day's suitable_for and avoid_for. |

Which muhurtham days in December 2026 can I actually register a sale deed on? I need the sub registrar office open.
Your AI reads the month's muhurtham days and keeps the ones where the office and banks are open, with the good time to go.
Responses
Every answer has the same envelope. What status can say for this call:
| status | What it means |
|---|---|
ok | At least one muhurtham falls in the window. Read sro_status on each day before planning a registration. |
not_found | No muhurtham in the window, the window is outside the published years, or a date could not be read (message or error says which). Nothing is charged. |
insufficient_credits | HTTP 402: the balance is below the price of the call. The answer carries the credits needed and your balance. |
Where the data comes from
The muhurtham lists published with the Tamil calendar for each year, joined to our day-by-day Tamil calendar, which carries every date's Tamil month and day, nakshatram, timings and the sub registrar office and bank holidays.
Calendar years 2026 and 2027: 72 published muhurtham days in 2026 and 74 in 2027, and a calendar entry for each of the 730 days in those years.
Each year's list is added when it is published. A window that runs past the last published year is read up to the end of that year and the answer says so in coverage_note; a window wholly outside it answers not_found with the years that are covered.
The days come from the published list as printed. The day details come from the calendar, whose tithi and nakshatram follow the vakya panchangam used on Tamil sheet calendars and checked against two independent almanacs. On a day the sub registrar office is closed, deed registration is moved from suitable_for to avoid_for and sro_note says why.
Who uses it
Registration and documentation desks
Offer a buyer the muhurtham days in the month when the sub registrar office is actually open, with the time to be at the counter.
Builders and CRM teams
Schedule griha pravesham, key handover and bhoomi puja on days customers will accept, straight into the booking calendar.
Property apps and assistants
Answer "nalla naal this month" with dates, timings and the office status in English and Tamil.
Limits and good practice
- Muhurtham selection is customary guidance, not a legal requirement for registration, possession or any government process. Present it that way.
- Several muhurtham days fall on a Sunday or a holiday, when the sub registrar office is closed. Check sro_status before telling anyone to register that day.
- Coverage is 2026 and 2027. A window beyond the last published year is read only up to it.
- A window longer than 120 days is cut to 120 days and range_note says so. Ask again with a later start date for the rest.
- Families follow different almanacs. The tithi and star here follow the vakya panchangam; a thirukanitha almanac can differ by a few hours.
Pricing
Each call costs 1 credit, charged only when at least one muhurtham is returned. An empty window costs nothing. Credits come from the same LandLens wallet as the chat and the minis. How billing works.
For thousands of calls a month, a portfolio sweep or a platform built on these registers, we quote a customised bulk price, with invoicing to match.
Questions
Is there an API for Tamil muhurtham dates?
Yes, this one. It returns the published muhurtham days in a window as JSON, with the Tamil date, star, timings and whether the sub registrar office is open, over HTTPS or MCP.
How much does it cost?
Each call costs 1 credit, and nothing when no muhurtham falls in the window.
Which years does it cover?
2026 and 2027, every published muhurtham day in both years. A window outside those years answers not_found and names the covered years.
Can I register a property on every muhurtham day?
No. Some fall on Sundays or government holidays, when the sub registrar office is closed. sro_status says Open or Closed for each day, and avoid_for lists deed registration on a closed day.
What if I want the best days for a specific activity, not only muhurtham days?
property_panchangam with action best_dates lists the highest scoring days for registration, a site visit, a token advance, a loan application, bhoomi puja or a housewarming, on days the office and banks are open, and marks which of them are muhurtham days.
